Entry requirements
The minimum academic entry requirements for undergraduate Medicine at University of Galway are as follows:
Obtaining Grade A in 3 A Level subjects, including Chemistry and another subject of Biology, Physics or Maths.
Obtaining 36 points, excluding bonus points, in the International Baccalaureate with minimum H6 in Chemistry and HL Biology.
Other examinations will also be considered e.g. National High School exams etc. Applicants, whose first language is not English, must also achieve an overall IELTS of 6.5 with no component less than 6.5 or a TOEFL equivalent.
In addition to the above minimum academic requirements, applicants must successfully complete an interview with the School of Medicine at the University of Galway.

Copies of school transcripts/examination certificates (including predicted grades if available).
A copy of birth certificate or passport.
English language certificate, for applicants whose first language is not English.
Evidence of funding.
A personal statement (typed) of no more than 500 words outlining your academic interests, sporting and/or cultural interests and your reasons for applying to University of Galway.
A letter of recommendation.
Details of any additional relevant experience.
