About the English Language Preparation Programme
ELPP courses run between 1 and 3 terms (1 and 2 semesters) and offer students the opportunity to improve their English language skills, a vital element of academic success.
Courses range from focusing on academic studies, bridging the gap some students may have in getting used to the UK style of university teaching, to general English language (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) to achieve the required IELTS for progression to a foundation programme.

Benefits of the ELPP
What the ELPP covers
Depending on the English course taken, students can expect to be taught a number of general English language foundational skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The programme also helps students develop more academic-focused skills such as academic writing, critical analysis, referencing, and seminar skills.
The overarching aim of this programme is to prepare students for academic study within the UK university system.
