Living in Birmingham
Birmingham is the youngest major city in Europe, with 40% of the population being under 25 years old, making it an ideal destination for international students. From its diverse culinary scene to its extensive history of arts and culture to its shopping district which is home to one of Europe's largest shopping malls, Birmingham offers so much for students to see and do while they study.
It is also one of the UK's greenest cities, with over 8,000 acres of green spaces, including 600 parks. It also has more canals than Venice, offering many routes for walking, running or cycling, and opportunities to explore the great outdoors. This makes the city an ideal destination to study, live and explore as an international student.
Students wishing to travel during their time in the UK are well catered for in Birmingham. It’s 90 minutes by train to London in the South or Manchester in the North, and is close to some of the best English countryside.
