About the University Pathway Programme
The UPP at OnCampus Amsterdam has been designed with Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences to deliver the Propaedeutic Year 1. This is the initial year of a bachelor's degree programme at a Dutch university of applied sciences. It serves as a foundational stepping stone, designed to introduce students to the core concepts and methodologies of their chosen field of study.
This programme lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to nine teaching weeks and one reading week. You will undertake up to 26 hours of classroom-based study per week.
Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours.
You will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure you are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final term. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the university environment, and include project work, essays, presentations and unseen examination.

- Credit Accumulation: Successful completion of the propaedeutic year results in the acquisition of 60 ECTS credits, which contribute towards the overall degree requirements.
- Coursework: Students are typically required to complete a set of core courses that cover the essential topics within their field of study.
- Credit Accumulation: To successfully pass the propaedeutic year, students must earn 60 ECTS credits by passing all required courses.
- Propaedeutic Certificate: Upon successful completion, students receive a propaedeutic certificate, which signifies their readiness to continue their studies
- Progression to Bachelor's Degree: The propaedeutic certificate enables students to proceed to the subsequent years of their bachelor's degree programme at Wittenborg.
- Transfer to Research University: In some cases, obtaining a propaedeutic certificate may also qualify students for admission to a research university, allowing them to pursue research oriented academic studies.
