Entry Requirements

The entry criteria listed below are designed to ensure that all applicants interested in studying the programme will not only have a reasonable expectation of successfully completing the programme but also doing so in such a way as to meet the entry criteria for the undergraduate degree programme they wish to study at the partner HEI.

Age 

Applicants must normally be 17 years old but will be 18 years old by the end of the programme.

International Foundation Studies Programme

English Requirements

An English level of Council of Europe B1+ Proficiency Level/IGCSE C/IELTS 5.0 or equivalent. IELTS 5.0 overall with no less than 5.0 in the written component and 4.5 in the listening, speaking, and reading components

Applicants must hold a certificate of secondary education at GCSE level or equivalent to include a minimum pass grade in maths and a minimum pass grade in four other subjects.

Pre-Master's Programme

English and Academic Requirements

  • 2 semesters – from 5.5 IELTS/CEFR B2 or equivalent, with no single element less than 5.0.

Students will need to have a completed a bachelor's degree with a minimum second-class honours grade from a recognised university to progress to an Irish university master’s programme. Other grades and qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
