The Whiteknights campus of the University of Reading is set in 130 hectares of stunning parkland, providing a beautiful environment in which to study, and the campus also offers extensive indoor and outdoor fitness and sports facilities.
The University of Reading's Whiteknights campus is home to the student union that offers many services to all students, including shops, social spaces, and places to eat. The student union also provides housing, academic, and financial advice, organises events, and acts as a hub for students to socialise and find likeminded people through clubs and societies. All of these services and activities are available to OnCampus Reading students as soon as you join us.
Living in Reading
Reading has been named one of the best places to live in the UK by the Sunday Times, and with a population of approximated 230,000 people, it is the largest town in the UK by population. Over 150 languages are spoken across Reading, making it a diverse and welcoming location for international students.
Reading offers a wide range of places to go and things to do, from the world-famous Reading Festival, which attracts over 100,000 attendees, to smaller events throughout the year. The town has several museums, multiple theatres, two shopping centres and a diverse culinary scene for students to enjoy.
Students wishing to travel during their time in the UK are well catered for in Reading. Located in the heart of the Thames Valley, Reading is just 25 minutes away from London, 20 minutes from the beautiful and prestigious city of Oxford, and 1 hour from Bristol, meaning days and nights out are readily accessible.
